From student loans to scholarships and bursaries, as well as funding from external organisations, we have all the information you need.

The Academy prides itself on being able to accept students purely on the basis of their potential and talent, and we’ll try to help deserving candidates as much as possible. The amount available for scholarships and bursaries varies from year to year, with some funding coming from the Academy’s own endowments and the rest secured through the generosity of individuals, companies, trusts and foundations.

Academy Life (no registration required):

11am – Admissions and Financial Awards

This session will outline the admissions and audition process, including the adjustments we’re making for the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ll also give you information about scholarships and bursaries. This is your opportunity to ask any questions you have about the admissions process, your audition and how scholarships and bursaries are awarded.

12 noon – Open Academy

Open Academy is the Royal Academy of Music’s Community and Participation department. Every year, we make music with around 6000 people beyond our enrolled students and staff, in a wide variety of settings. These settings include schools, hospitals, care settings, special schools and day centres. Academy students can get involved with this work, and gain skills, knowledge and confidence to prepare them for engagement in this field of work in the future as part of their musical careers. Our projects enable everyone involved to make connections with people from different walks of life, and to reflect upon the contribution musicians can make to society through their artistry, and some to explore some of the ways which that artistry can find its meaning and purpose in the world.

1pm – Artist Development

In this webinar, we talk you through how we make sure that you get the tools you need during your time at the Academy, so that by the time you leave, you are a versatile, career-savvy and empowered artist, ready to forge the career you want.

2pm – Students’ Union

Our session will give you the chance to meet our current Student Union Team with an insight to what we do, how we enhance the student experience and a peak at what you can look forward to if you choose to study at the Academy!

Get to know the societies that are on offer, take a look into our student support network, learn how you could make money at the Academy, as well as a brief look at our facilities, student discounts, events and a general Question & Answer session (perhaps questions that you wouldn't put to staff!). We look forward to seeing you there! Before starting the live session, we recommend that you read the sections below – they will, we hope, answer many of your questions.
