Semyon Bychkov leads the Academy Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Tchaikovsky’s Francesca da Rimini.

Through his dramatic symphonic poem, Tchaikovsky tells the tragic tale of Francesca da Rimini, who was immortalised in Dante’s Divine Comedy.

This performance took place in January 2016 at a ceremony to mark Bychkov’s Honorary Membership of the Royal Academy of Music. Previous honorands include Strauss, Liszt, Stravinsky and Messiaen. Also on the programme was Strauss’s Don Juan.
