Music, lyrics and letter workshops by Gwyneth Herbert
Directed by Bijan Sheibani

In a world where communication is radically shifting, seven students stare bravely down the Zoom lens.

Their voices bring Gwyneth Herbert’s collection of Letter Songs alive in a new way, reaching through a storm of noise to encounter stories of personal wounding, historical violence, political and human solidarity.

How do we find the courage to speak out and listen at the same time? If we topple down the towers, what might we build in their place? And amidst it all, can we find a way to reconnect with our wonder – the wonder of just being alive?

'The Butterfly Effect' was born out of the words of young artists from the Young Women's Music Project, Oxford.

'Yours is Ours' was inspired by the life and work of Gloria Steinem, co-commissioned by The Canales Project and the University of Wolverhampton.
