Dan D’Souza is in his second year at Royal Academy Opera

He previously held scholarships at the Royal College of Music and the University of Cambridge. He studies with Raymond Connell and Jonathan Papp, and is supported by the John Talbot Collender Award and Josephine Baker Trust.

Recent opera roles include Papageno in Die Zauberflöte and Demetrius in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Royal Academy Opera), Riff in West Side Story (Edinburgh International Festival), Conte Perruchetto in La fedeltà premiata (Royal Opera House, Mumbai) and Starveling in A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Royal College of Music International Opera School). He was the 2018 winner of the Dame Patricia Routledge National English Song Competition and the Royal College of Music Lieder Prize, and will compete in the 2021 finals of the Belvedere Competition.

A CD of Semele with Sir John Eliot Gardiner and the English Baroque Soloists, in which Dan performed the role of the High Priest, was released in October 2020.
