Welcome to the Woodwind Department's Open Day page!

Our courses offer a wide variety of opportunities, from one-to-one masterclasses with world-class soloists to full symphony orchestra concerts. Our professors have decades of experience as internationally renowned soloists, seasoned chamber musicians and principal players in London’s top orchestras.

This year we hosted an in-person open day on 23 September.

You can read about the department on our main Woodwind Department page here.

To get a feel for the performance opportunities available to our woodwind student we have three performance highlights on this page, Mozart's 'Gran Partita' performed as a livestream during the 2021 summer term, a showreel featuring a variety of recorded woodwind highlights, and a performance of Umoja by Valerie Coleman performed on International Women's Day by student ensemble Sylva Winds.

You can also view as the recent rehearsal of Mahler's No 3 Final Movement with Klemperer Chair of Conducting, Semyon Bychkov.
