Video audition eligibility

If you are applying for the Musical Theatre MA, you live outside Europe, and you are unable to travel to London or New York at the time of the auditions, the Academy will accept a video recording. Please complete a UCAS Conservatoires application by 1 November (selecting Recording as the audition method) and then contact for the video form, stating your UCAS Conservatoires number and confirming that you are applying for the Musical Theatre programme. The recording and video form should be uploaded into Decision Desk by the application deadline of 1 November, please see our Video page. Files uploaded after 1 November will be assessed at the discretion of the Head of Musical Theatre.

Audition requirements

Musical Theatre Master of Arts audition requirements are as follows:

  • Three songs demonstrating different voice qualities
  • One contemporary, naturalistic speech or monologue (no more than two minutes). Please avoid poetical style, e.g. Stephen Berkoff or Samuel Beckett
  • Short, videoed explanation of motivation to join the Programme
