A graduate of the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, Lesley-Ann has lived and worked in Glasgow as a freelance double bassist performing with orchestras including the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and Orchestra of Scottish Opera. With a passion for music education, Lesley-Ann also worked as a community musician with students and adults with special educational needs and disabilities, and as a peripatetic teacher across many local authorities.

In 2014, while working at Enterprise Music Scotland as Education and Projects Officer, she managed the hugely successful Music Education Matters conference, before moving into full-time management as Head of the Instrumental Music Service at West Dunbartonshire Council. Lesley-Ann took up the role of Deputy Chief Executive and Head of Education at Kent Music in 2015, where she was integral in the restructuring of the company and in the implementation of salaried teachers.

Prior to joining the Academy, Lesley-Ann was Head of Junior Music Courses at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. She is a cohort of Engage’s Extend Leadership Programme 2014-15 and is an accredited leadership coach.
