Second Trombone with the London Symphony Orchestra

Studied at the Royal Academy of Music

James began playing the trombone in the Salvation Army and went on to study at the Royal Academy of Music with Dudley Bright. He has been Second Trombone in the London Symphony Orchestra since 1998, where he also plays euphonium and bass trumpet.

He is also a composer and has had a number of commissions including the Brighton Festival, London Symphony Orchestra, LSO Discovery and Onyx Brass.
