Gives masterclasses throughout the UK and teaches at the Lake District Summer Music School

Carole has performed throughout Europe, in the Far East, Africa and the United States. In the UK she has performed at major venues including the Wigmore Hall, Southbank Centre, Kings Place and St John’s Smith Square and at international festivals such as Aldeburgh, Bath and Harrogate. As a concerto soloist she has performed repertoire ranging from Mozart to Frank Martin. She has broadcast regularly for BBC Radio 3 and frequently abroad, for Bayerischer Rundfunk, Radio France, RAI Italian Television, WFMT in the United States and for numerous other European networks. She has recorded CDs for labels such as Pavane, Meridian and EMI Classics to wide critical acclaim, with chamber music discs chosen as Critic’s Choice in the Evening Standard, highly recommended in the Penguin CD Guide and chosen by BBC Radio 3’s Building a Library.

Passionate about chamber music, Carole has collaborated with many distinguished artists including Alexander Baillie, Colin Carr, Robert Cohen, Frans Helmerson, Ralph Kirshbaum, Nobuko Imai, Anthony Marwood, Sylvia Rosenberg, Alexander Rudin and the Chilingirian, Endellion, Vanbrugh and Belcea String Quartets. She also appeared at the Musikverein, Vienna at the invitation of the Sandor Vegh Ensemble.

Carole is frequently invited to adjudicate, examine and give masterclasses for the UK’s leading conservatoires and specialist music schools as well as for the European Piano Teachers’ Association. She has coached chamber music for diverse organisations such as Pro Corda and the Benslow Music Trust and for several years was a member of staff at the Yehudi Menuhin School. Carole has been a Tutor and Artist in Residence at the Lake District Summer Music international festival and summer school for over twenty five years.

Carole studied with Renna Kellaway on the Joint Course at the Royal Northern College of Music and the University of Manchester. Postgraduate scholarships enabled her to work with Andras Schiff at the International Musicians’ Seminar, Prussia Cove and with Gyorgy Sebok at masterclasses in Amsterdam.
