Saxophonist and composer Founder of the Matt Anderson Quartet

Originally hailing from the North Yorkshire Moors and now living in London, saxophonist and composer Matt Anderson recently released his second album ‘Rambling’ with his group the Matt Anderson Quartet on the Jellymould Jazz label label alongside an extensive U.K. tour and launch gig at Vortex Jazz Club, London. He is also popular as a sideman in a variety of projects on the fertile London and Leeds jazz scenes, performing regularly across the UK and internationally with recent appearances in New Zealand, Scandinavia and Eastern Europe. In October 2015 he performed in Greece with Jiannis Pavlidis' Quintet featuring legendary American jazz drummer Greg Hutchinson. He is a graduate with distinction of the Royal Academy of Music’s Masters course, and was also awarded a Recital Diploma and the Craig Ball Prize as well as the George Drexler Foundation Scholarship.

He also teaches at Leeds College of Music (where he studied as an undergraduate) and the University of Leeds as well as running jazz workshops on a freelance basis for organisations like NYJO, Jazz-at-HEART and Jambone (Sage Gateshead).
