The Royal Academy of Music is delighted to announce the appointment of the distinguished Danish organist Bine Katrine Bryndorf as a Visiting Professor of Organ with immediate effect.

Bine Katrine Bryndorf is Head of the Organ Department at the Royal Danish Academy of Music and one of today’s leading organists particularly of the German baroque repertoire. Her recordings on historic instruments of the complete works of Buxtehude and works of Bach, Bruhns and Scheidemann have been acclaimed worldwide.

David Titterington, Head of Organ at the Academy remarked: ‘The appointment of Bine Katrine Bryndorf as a Visiting Professor of Organ brings one of the world’s most influential and charismatic players into the department. We are particularly delighted to formalise in this way her work at the Academy, where she has taught and performed for a number of years — most recently giving one of the inaugural recitals on the Duke’s Hall’s new Sir Elton John/Ray Cooper Organ by Kuhn. She is an authority on historical performance practice for the organ, and is a very popular and inspiring teacher amongst our students. We look forward to many years of collaboration with this much admired musician’.
