Nominations for the Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards

Congratulations to all Royal Academy of Music alumni and close connections to the Academy who have been nominated for Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards.

The RPS Music Awards are the highest recognition for live classical music-making in the United Kingdom and reflect our guiding principles of Excellence, Creativity and Understanding.

Nominations with Academy connections include:

Chamber Music and Song

Carducci String Quartet
The Quartet, which was founded at the Academy, was nominated for their tour of complete cycles of Shostakovich Quartets in cities including Washington DC, London, Oxford, Cardiff, Bogota and concerts throughout the UK, across Ireland and in other international venues, in commemoration of the 40th anniversary of Shostakovich’s death.

Nash Ensemble
Academy alumna Amelia Freedman founded the Nash Ensemble here over fifty years ago. Many current members are Academy alumni.

Cavatina Chamber Music Trust
The Trust supports Academy string students.
