As part of the London Sinfonietta’s 50th Anniversary celebrations, Junior Academy student Toby Anderson has been commissioned to write a short work for solo bassoon, which was premiered by London Sinfonietta Principal Player John Orford. The piece was performed at the Sinfonietta’s World Premiere Wednesday breakfast event on Wednesday 28 March 2018.

Toby is a Year 13 Junior Academy student who studies composition with Hannah Kendall and cello with Alexandra Mackenzie. He is Composer-in-Residence for the National Youth Orchestra.

This is the first time that the London Sinfonietta has commissioned a young composer as part of this series. World Premiere Wednesdays are bi-monthly breakfast networking events sponsored by Lark (Group) Limited.
