Joanna MacGregor, Head of Piano at the Royal Academy of Music, has announced a new addition to her illustrious professorial staff. Amandine Savary, who herself studied at the Academy, will become a professor of piano for the next academic year, starting in September 2015.
Joanna commented: ‘I’m really delighted to welcome Amandine, a concert performer of the highest calibre, to the Academy’s Piano Department. Her vibrancy, charisma, and experience as a member of Trio Dali will be a wonderful addition to our world-class team of piano professors.’
Amandine added: ‘I am extremely delighted with my new appointment. Teaching at the Academy has always been one of my dreams. It means I’ll be back in the place where I grew up as a musician — and now I shall try to transmit all I have learnt to the very latest generation. It is an exciting challenge, and I feel really honoured to become part of this wonderful institution’.
