-Posted on 15.06.2015

Congratulations to two of our Latvian alumni who have been selected as finalists in the 15th International Tchaikovsky Competition. Kristine Balanas and Andrej Osokins will compete for the coveted award in Moscow from 15th June, in the Violin and Piano categories respectively.

The first International Tchaikovsky Competition was held over 50 years ago. The competition takes place every four years, and is considered one of the major events in the international music community. The competition aims to provide a starting point for gifted young musicians and initiate students into the worldwide professional community.
Kristine and Andrej also often perform together, including at private concerts, the Latvian Embassy and even on YouTube.
