Semyon Bychkov conductor

Mahler Symphony no.9

Following the epic performance of Mahler’s ‘Resurrection’ Symphony in June at the Royal Festival Hall, the Academy’s Klemperer Chair of Conducting, Semyon Bychkov, returns to conduct the Academy Symphony Orchestra in a performance of Mahler’s Ninth Symphony in the Duke’s Hall. It was the composer’s last complete symphony before he died at the age of fifty, and is often considered both his farewell and his most deeply personal score.
