Live concert. Mozart Series: 'Gran Partita', free on Fridays

Live from the Royal Academy of Music’s Duke's Hall.
(Music starts 7 minutes in)

Royal Academy of Music Symphonic Wind
Keith Bragg, conductor

Mozart Serenade in B flat, K.361, ‘Gran Partita’

Our month-long celebration of Mozart’s chamber music begins with the Gran Partita, arguably the grandest and most wide-ranging instrumental music from the Viennese classical period. Mozart’s sensitivity to the colours of wind instruments, his mastery of all eighteenth-century musical styles and his unerring dramatic instinct are blended into a seven-movement score of unsurpassed variety which far transcends the serenade tradition from which it emerged.

Part of the Academy’s long-running ‘free on Fridays’ lunchtime concert series.
