Our students benefit from one-to-one tuition from expert teachers, masterclasses with a world-renowned roster of visiting professors, outstanding facilities, and a wealth of exciting performance opportunities. The Academy provides the gold-standard in musical training but we need financial assistance more than ever in order to open these opportunities to the widest range of musicians, regardless of background and circumstances.

Many of our students would simply be unable to take up a place at the Academy without the support of external benefactors. As well as the cost of fees, students need to cover their living and travel expenses, as well as a host of hidden costs which are a staple of the life of a young musician-in-training, such as performance attire and instrument repair. Our students follow an intensive programme of study, with free time spent practising or performing. Such a packed schedule leaves very little time for additional paid work. Our students therefore have a very particular need for additional support.

The Academy is committed to ensuring that scholarships are awarded on the basis of financial need with assessment taking place to ensure that the most deserving and talented individuals receive support. As a small institution, the Development Team has direct contact with the Bursary Committee and Heads of Department, enabling us to respond quickly to student need.

Donating to the Academy’s Scholarship Fund allows you to provide direct support to some of the Academy’s most talented and deserving students and to follow their development throughout their period of study here. As well as providing supporters with updates on student progress, the Academy also encourages opportunities for supporters to meet their students and to attend concerts and recitals throughout the year.

Intervention from a supporter at a crucial moment can change the course of a young person’s life and set them on the road to success. We would love for you to be part of this journey.
