“This building has been absolutely at the centre of everything that I have done, everything that I have learnt”
Sir Simon Rattle

‘Choice of university makes a difference when it comes
to finding a job or a place in a graduate program...
The Royal Academy of Music was the only British
 institute with a perfect score’

  New York Times, July 2013

Over the years, thousands of successful musicians have started their careers at the Academy: household names from Sir Simon Rattle to Sir Elton John and countless others who make their living in every branch of the music profession.

We hope that you will be inspired to join us here. Deciding where to study is an important decision. We’re sure that you’ll have a lot of questions — if this website doesn’t answer them all, please don’t hesitate to contact the administrator of the department which interests you.

In addition to our illustrious heads of department and professorial staff, we also have many distinguished visiting professors who teach at the Academy on a regular basis (find out who we’ve appointed to our permanent and visiting staff list since 2008 here).
