The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) has awarded the Royal Academy of Music a Block Grant Partnership.
PGDip, MA, and MMus students are eligible to apply for the AHRC Professional Preparation Master's Scheme for the duration of their programme (2 years maximum), subject to fulfilling residence requirements within the UK or European Community as detailed on the AHRC website.
MMus students are also eligible to apply for the AHRC Research Preparation Master's Scheme.
MPhil students are eligible to apply for the AHRC Doctoral Awards Scheme.
Applications for AHRC funding have to be assessed by our postgraduate academic staff before the Academy can forward the application. Only outstanding profiles would have any chance of success. Previously unfunded students are eligible to receive funding for the second year of a two-year course provided the second year meets the minimum duration requirements.
How to apply
You will be eligible to apply after you have accepted the offer of a study place at the Academy.
You will need to print the AHRC application form, and after you have completed it, post it to the Registrar at the Academy [postmarked on or before 1st March 2011]. Current Academy students can deliver the form by hand to the Registry office or to the Registry pigeonhole in the General Office.
2011 forms will be available later this year; you can look at the 2010 forms here for guidance about the application process, but we are no longer accepting applications for 2010 funding.
