Introduction

For studies at the Academy starting in September 2010, the main London auditions were between 30 November and 11 December 2009. There are different dates for auditions in North America and East Asia and for Conducting, Choral Conducting and Research Degree applications.

Applications for Junior Academy are managed separately by the Junior Academy office.

The Royal Academy of Music, along with selected UK performing arts institutions, is not a member of CUKAS. For all Academy programmes of study, application is made directly to the Academy. Details of the entry and audition requirements are available from the menu on the left of this screen.

The Academy's existing admissions procedures best serve the special requirements of the institution and enable us to offer the most flexible, responsive and personalised service to applicants from a large and diverse international community.

Auditions in London - December 2009.
     Application deadlines
     - 1 October (paper applications)
     - 9 October (online applications, composition portfolio submissions)
     - 1 November for Musical Theatre paper applications
    Notification of audition date & time is sent at the beginning of November

Auditions in Beijing, Hong Kong, Seoul, Taipei and Tokyo - November 2009
Application deadlines are set by the local coordinator (paper applications).

Auditions in London for Conducting and for Choral Conducting - February 2010
Auditions in North America - March 2010
Application deadline - 9 October (online applications), 8 January 2010 (paper applications)
Notification of audition date & time is sent at the end of January.

Research (MPhil/PhD) Programmes: London interviews - Spring 2010
Application deadline - 18 January 2010 (paper applications)
Notification of interview date & time for selected candidates is sent in February
