Opera Scholarships
The Academy makes substantial provision in scholarship and bursary support to students on the basis of both merit and need. Some specific scholarships which will be of interest to opera singers:
An award for British Operatic Sopranos. The Academy will be particularly interested in those candidates who demonstrate dramatic potential. The Scholarship will be tenable for a two-year period of operatic study at the Royal Academy of Music commencing in September. Tuition fees will be provided in full, as well as a generous contribution towards living expenses.
An award for postgraduate vocal studies. This prestigious prize, worth £10,000, is open to competition for all postgraduate singers who successfully audition to study at the Academy from September.
