Visitor information
The museum forms an integral part in the daily activities of staff and students at the Royal Academy of Music. Regular performances and demonstrations take place in the galleries, frequently using the instruments on display. The collections are used intensively by students and staff for performance practice and musical scholarship. Visitors are encouraged to view the galleries and attend the many concerts and research events taking place. Admission is free.

Access
The museum is located within the York Gate building, part of Royal Academy of Music situated on Marylebone Road. On weekdays and Saturdays entry is via the main door of the York Gate building. This building is on the corner of Marylebone Road and York Gate.
On Sundays entry is via the main entrance of the Royal Academy of Music. Walk down the main stairs to the basement level and along the passageway. There is a lift accessing all parts of the York Gate building. The galleries are on the ground, first and second floors.
Disabled access is available during all opening hours via the main entrance of the Royal Academy of Music. A combination of lifts and ramps are used to access the building. The use of a wheelchair is also available if required.

Group visits
Educational groups of up to 20 can book guided tours of the galleries by contacting collections@ram.ac.uk. Groups have already enjoyed visits based on architecture and local history as well as musical subjects.
