The Academy’s main concert hall, the Duke’s Hall seats around 400 people and was refurbished to a very high standard in the 1990s. It is fully air-conditioned.
The Duke’s Hall is used is all day every day for rehearsals, orchestral and ensemble performances, masterclasses, high-profile presentations and many other activities.
In 2010 alone, Honorary Doctorates were presented to Daniel Barenboim, Pierre Boulez and Stephen Sondheim on the stage of the Duke’s Hall.
The Academy has a brand-new Organ, custom-built in Switzerland and generously funded by Sir Elton John, former Junior Exhibitioner.
