The Academy’s main concert hall, the Duke’s Hall seats around 400 people and was refurbished to a very high standard in the 1990s. It is fully air-conditioned.

The Duke’s Hall is used is all day every day for rehearsals, orchestral and ensemble performances, masterclasses, high-profile presentations and many other activities.

In 2010 alone, Honorary Doctorates were presented to Daniel Barenboim, Pierre Boulez and Stephen Sondheim on the stage of the Duke’s Hall.
