Auditions in North America
If you live in Canada or the USA, you must audition in either London or New York (2013 audition dates will be made available when known).
Please also note that New York auditions are not offered for Organ, Harpsichord, Percussion, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Opera, Repetiteur, Composition, Conducting, Choral Conducting, or the MPhil research degree. These subjects are auditioned exclusively in London. Harp candidates will need to bring their own instrument.
We are not able to audition candidates for BMus in New York if they will be eligible for UK or EU Fee Status (“Home/EU Fee” status: please see the summary of fee regulations on our Fee Payment page). Such candidates must audition at our London session in December.
The application fee is £150.
The application deadline for New York auditions for 2012 entry has now passed. Information about 2013 audition dates will be made available when known.
Please apply with our standard application form, available to download as a PDF from our applications page.
An accompanist is normally available at our New York auditions, though you are strongly advised to bring your own. If you cannot do this, there is no charge for using the Academy accompanist, and you will be allocated a short rehearsal with them immediately before your audition time.
The Academy thanks Steinway & Sons for their co-operation and support in these auditions.
